Dr. Kim leads Q Synthesis LLC and provides interprofessional continuing education and practice-based quality improvement (QI) programs for healthcare teams in the community. Q Synthesis works in joint-providership with accredited providers of continuing medical education (CME/CE) to apply systems thinking and implementation science to advance team-based interprofessional collaborative practice. Q Synthesis develops and implements systems-based quality improvement (QI) initiatives that apply the Active Implementation Framework:
Dr. Kim facilitates focus groups and workshops to engage members of the multidisciplinary care team. He is an active member of the Alliance for Continuing Education in the Health Professions (ACEHP or "Alliance") and served on the Alliance Board of Directors from 2017 to 2025. He has chaired the Alliance Technology Committee (2012-2013) and served as a member of the Alliance Education Committee (2014-2015). He has received the Alliance President's Award (2011, 2014, and 2015), the Alliance Distinguished Member Award (2014), the Alliance Fellowship Award (2018), and the Alliance Appreciation and Recognition Award for Leadership and Service on the Board of Directors (2025). Dr. Kim also served as the President of the National Association of Medical Education Companies (NAMEC) from 2012-2014 and was on the NAMEC Board of Directors from 2009-2014. Dr. Kim has served as faculty for the American Association for Physician Leadership (formerly known as the American College of Physician Executives) and has published in the Physician Leadership Journal. Dr. Kim holds a BS in engineering from MIT, an MD from the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences (UAMS) College of Medicine, an MPH from UMass Amherst School of Public Health and Health Sciences, and an MBA from Saint Joseph's University Erivan K.
